I ordered delivery from here. Overall, it wasn't bad. Delivery time was an hour. They were out of cannolis and the menu on their website is obsolete. I ordered a greek salad with extra Feta and pepperoncinis, and penne alla vodka. The penne was bland and just unimpressive, but I was very pleased with the salad.

This place has been in the neighborhood for a year or so, and I've stopped in a couple of times. I'll typically order the turkey sub. I'm not a big fan of South Florida pizza, so I typically stick with the sandwiches when I visit places like this. It's close to where I work, it's also on the way home, and is conveniently located next to where I typically fill my car with petro. The sandwiches are good, and they give you a lot for the price you pay. It also includes French fries, and comes to around $8 or $9 tip included. It really is a pretty good deal. I'll continue to stop in every now and then, while sampling other menu items.

I needed gas and lunch so I headed to the gas station closest to my work and intended to go Subway which is right next door. Big Louie's in sandwiched between Subway and Rosa's deli (which is inside the gas station) and because of that I never bother to stop in at Big Louie's. However, I had a spur of the moment voice in my head that told me I should switch it up a bit. Plus my office is always freezing and the thought of hot food over Subway was winning. Although I've worked in the area for 7 years and seen this place go from a fast food pizza joint, to another pizza joint to finally Big Louie's I had never visited any of them... pizza really isn't my go to. I skipped their decently priced lunch specials and ask the girl at the front if I could get an eggplant parm without pasta and a side salad. She was happy to accommodate my crazy diet and came across very friendly. 5 stars for her! My total...approximately $8.50 - a fair price considering the portion size. 5 or 10 minutes later my food was ready and I was on my way back to work to eat it. There are a few tables in here and some people were eating, but this is definitely a to-go spot. The food I'll have to side with 3 stars. Nothing was bad nor was anything exceptional. Two garlic rolls were included with my meal which I didn't want but I felt I had to eat one just for my review lol. The garlic roll was ok , maybe the bread was a little stiff? And not enough garlic for me... I gave the second one away. The eggplant parm was big and had lots of cheese, though lacking some flavor. The side salad was good and crisp. I chose the creamy italian dressing which was only ok as well. I must say the pizza in here looked good, so I'd go back to try that. In fact considering there isn't a lot of Italian food in the area for me to drive to for a quick lunch I'll probably end up back here at some point.

Came here upon a recommendation from the hotel and loved it! Very friendly service and delicious garlic rolls (you can actually see the garlic on the roll!). The portions are HUGE and neither I, nor my boss could finish it. I was told that this was the best pizza in the area- but I was craving pasta so I had the lasagna. It was good but the portion was HUGE! They also have canned drinks in the fridge. Prices are very reasonable. Not much seating in the place- more of a carry-out place but they did have cute decor! Next time- I'll ask for delivery!

Big Louies is located very close to where I work, but this was my first time in here. I usually go to the Subway in this plaza instead because I can count the calories there easily, but this particular day I could just not stand the thought of Subway. I wanted something that tasted more like real food, and pizza places usually have great salads. They had quite a variety of salads here including Greek, Caesar, and garden, but I went with the antipasto. I placed my ordered and waited for about five or ten minutes and they had it all packed up for me. I thought the price was a little high for a takeout lunch because I paid around $10 with the tax, but when I arrived back at work and opened up the salad I decided it was well worth the price. The salad was huge! And they included two garlic rolls! I ate half (and avoided the garlic rolls as I was trying to be a little bit healthy) and saved the other half for later. Considering the salad came with bread and it easily made two meals, $10 didn't seem like so much anymore. In terms of taste I enjoyed the salad, and I like the creamy italian dressing (which they give you a ton of I must add, but it's on the side). There was no shortage of meat and cheese and the salad even had green olives, a nice surprise as I usually only see black olives. I found myself kind of wishing the salad had more lettuce, but overall it was a good meal and a good lunch option.

0 stars. I ordered 2 pizzas tonight that arrives with the cheese completely slid off to the point where it was all crumpled at the front of the box. Called at 930pm and said the pizzas were unacceptable but as soon as they picked up the phone I was told they were closed! Website lists them as being open til 1030pm. So they said 'sure we'll send you 2 new pizzas in exchange for the old ones. It'll be 30 minutes or so. It's now 1030pm. They dont answer their phone and no one has delivered the pizzas i was promised. BTW not even an apology when i said the pizzas were unacceptable. doubt Ill get an apology for waiting on these 2 new pizzas that I know are not coming now. going to call as soon as they 'open' tomorrow to get my money back. I use the term 'open' loosely. Apparently they dont even stay open the hours listed on their website. or google. or yelp.

I like your pizzas but you should be able to reverse transactions in case customers change their mind or in my case forgot to give her coupon.

Our go to place for pizza, love the Hawaiian Pizza. Haven't tried much of anything else but the pizza, but we're never disappointed.

Mediocre at best. Hard pizza, no where to sit, bad parking... nothing too see or eat here.

Will the real big Louie's please stand up? What has happened to the franchise. There was a time I thought that this place would be just as popular as dominos. They serve fantastic Italian food with big portions in their pizzas were just outstanding. Not anymore. This place is strictly takeout and delivery. Not much to this place actually it's pretty tiny. My favorite of all time is the big Louis special. So I order that which comes with 5 toppings. I get pepperoni, sausage, extra cheese and mushrooms. I've been getting this pie the same way since the eighties. I get my pie and head home. I sneak a peek of it because it smells damn good. First thing I notice is the sausage is different. They used to have sausage that was the size of a marble and oblong shaped. Now it's this sliced sausage. Man, I didn't like that. So I get home and take a few bites. First off it's not bad pizza so let me clear that up. It's ok. It's just not the Big Louie's that I remember. Maybe it's the sauce, cheese, or dough I just can't put my finger on why it doesn't taste the same. Definitely the change in sausage altered my view for sure. I don't know, but I'm not recommending this one folks. Stay hungry!

First off let me start by saying, the only reason I gave this place 1 star, was because I had to select at least one. The food absolutely sucks. I ordered a Margarita pizza, the poor excuse of what I received was nothing like the description, arrived soggy and cold. (I live less than a mile away) I was told it would take 35-45 minutes, it took over an hour. I called the restaurant to ask for a manager, and the girl that answered said he wasn't there, then asked if she could help me, I told her no that's ok, I'll call him tomorrow, she then gave me a crappy attitude, so I hung up. All I have to say, is this location poorly represents the Big Louie name. I have been to the Pompano location several times as well as other locations and never had a problem.

We were staying right across from this place so we decided to check it out when we wanted some pizza. We placed the order over the phone and got there about 20 minutes later. We still had to wait about 10 minutes before our order was ready. The prices are reasonable, paid about $12 for a large pepperoni. I think the pizzas ran on the smaller side, looked like what a medium would be at other places. But man was it tasty! Not too greasy but full of flavor. If I'm in town again, and close by, I'll go again.

This place was suggested to me by the hotel I was staying at. They have delivery. The stuffed shells and mozzarella sticks were good. The food was similar to the average pizza shop back home. Food was good, but nothing to write home about.

The pizza here is tasty, not greasy at all. Their sauce is pretty good and the meat was good. I like that it's not too thick of a pizza. I want flavor not bread! Their garlic rolls are my favorite! I love how they load them up! I could be so bad and just sit there and eat a whole bag (but I wouldn't) but it is that good! Right amount of garlic, oil, herb. I should have taken a picture but I ate it too fast :(

My fiancé and I ordered chicken marsala, baked ziti, and fried mozzarella. The baked ziti was a joke and a poor excuse for "Italian" food. They definitely boiled the ziti, put the tomato sauce on it and just sprinkled the mozzarella on top and packaged it to go. Nothing "baked" about it. Also I found small pieces of oyster shells in it....absolutely disgusting. The fried mozzarella was like the ones you get from a movie theater or a carnival...gross. The fact they call this Italian food is sad. The soup that came with the meal is soggy noodles in a very salty broth with "chicken" pieces that looked like brain. My fiancé liked the chicken marsala except it was done so incorrectly. The chicken came by itself with the sauce and then he got a side of spaghetti with tomato sauce...never again will we order from this place. What a sorry excuse for "Italian" food.

Glad this place is so close to sisters apt. its located next to a subway and chevron on 31st and cypress creek . small on the inside, perfect for just for a quick slice on the go ,they have a large variety on their menu of standard italian meals, but i heart the pizza here, plenty of diff kinds and toppings to chose from but I dig my traditional cheese or margharita . plenty of parking and they deliver. Pizza is greasy and cheesy just the way pizza should be. Staff is friendly. Honor coupons even if u forgot it at home. Getttt in my belly

Pretty darn good pizza!!!! I'm a fan of New York pizza. Was looking for something that comes close to good home pizza. Decided to try the pie with 5 toppings, pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, onion and garlic! It was surprisingly really good! My honey and I loved it!!! Will order from big louie's again! Look forward to trying more of their food!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
